Pierre Ferrand Amber, like other Pierre Ferrand cognacs, doesn’t carry a designation like VS or VSOP. Amber is a youngish cognac, with a light amber golden color of perhaps 4+ years aged in the barrel. It is classified as 1er Cru du Coganc and is made mostly from Ugni Blanc and some Colombard grapes. All Pierre Ferrand cognacs are made from eaux-de-vie from the Angeac terrior that is part of the Grand Champagne growing cru, a micro-terroir that many consider to contain the finest parcels in Grand Champagne.
