Courvoisier 12 Year Cognac is aged twice the amount required to be designated an XO cognac. Starting in 2018, the age required to be designated XO will move from six years to ten years. Courvoisier 12 Year Cognac will still be older than the minimum XO requirements after the change. As such, the name will probably stay. Courvoisier 12 Year is a cognac crafted from eaux-de-vie primarily from the Borderies growing cru with eaux-de-vie added from the the Fins Bois and Grand Champagne appellations of the Cognac region. This blend gives the cognac an aromatic violet bouquet with notes of clove and ginger. On the palate flavors of almonds and citrus predominate.
