Bache-Gabrielsen Cognac Tre Kors

Tre Kors Cognac, or three crosses is a cognac crafted by a Norwegian family. Tre Kors owes its name due to the prohibition in Norway that lasted from 1916to 1926. U.S. prohibition lasted from 1919- 1933. During that time, liquor was prohibited from being sold. Liquor, however, could be sold for medicinal purposes. Bache-Gabrielsen, seeking a way to keep its business alive, shifted the labeling of its cognac bottle from three start to three crosses, to indicate its new pharmaceutical nature. Tre Kors is made from blended eaux-de-vie mostly from Fins Bois (75%) with the remaining eaux-de-vie coming from the Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne growing crus. Tre Kors is aged in French Oak for at least two year. It is a fresh fruity cognac with a light orchard flavored finish.
