Visiting Rémy Martin While in Cognac

A trip to Cognac would not be complete without a visit to at least one of the big four cognac houses – Hennessy, Rémy Martin, Martell or Courvoisier.

About Rémy Martin

Rémy Martin is the second largest Cognac house, behind Hennessy. All of Rémy Martin’s cognacs are Champagne Cognacs crafted from grapes from Remy Martin’s vineyards which are the largest in the Grande and Petit Champagne appellations in the Cognac region. Rémy Martin uses only eaux-de-vie from Petite & Grande Champagne which, when blended, form Fine Champagne Cognac (eg. 1738 Accord Royal). When eaux-de-vie from only Grande Champagne are blended, the product is called Grand Champagne Cognac (eg. Remy Martin’s Louis XIII).

Rémy Martin’s eaux-de-vie are aged exclusively in limousin oak and include, VS (made from 100% Petit Champagne eaux-de-vie) VSOP Fine Champagne Cognac (in the famous green frosted bottle), VSOP Mature Cask Finish, Cour de Cognac, 1738 Accord Royal, Remy Martin XO, Centaure de Diamant and Louis XIII.

Rémy Martin offers Cognac aficionados the opportunity to learn more about its products and history on site at its facilities in the Charente, the French department in southwest France that is home to the town of Cognac and its surrounding vineyards.
