Distillerie Du Peyrat Organic Selection

The Review

We tasted Distillerie Du Peyrat Organic Selection cognac neat in a cognac sniffer. Here are our notes.

Price

Distillerie Du Peyrat Organic Selection is priced similar to a mid-upper range VSOP, close in price to Rémy Martin’s VSOP

Alcohol: 40% (80 proof)

Age: Blend of eaux-de-vie from different crus aged around 3-4 years. Aged in Limosin Oak.

The Bottle/Label

(see below) The packaging, label and stickers are produced from recycled materials.

The Color

Light golden yellow.

The Nose (Nez)

Orange, orchid flowers.

Mouth (En Bouche)

Delicate but dominate honeyed vanilla, pear and orange tones, minimal spice. At times, orange creamsicle.

Finish

Light wood, sawdust, slight tannins.

Overall

A young, yet supple cognac, owing that characteristic to a family distillation method known as fatty distillation.

Awards: Silver Medal San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2016
